(5 Stars) Has the Ripper come to Brighton?

The Legacy of The Ripper
Brian L Porter

The story begins with Jack Reid confined to a psychiatric hospital, having been found guilty of copycat killings of Jack the Ripper. The killings took place in Brighton, a seaside resort on the south coast of England. In his defence, Jack tells the police he is innocent and that he had been drugged and framed for the crimes. Only when one of the detectives on the case decides to investigate further, does the true story emerge.

This is another thrilling story penned by Brian L Porter. Following on from his masterpiece, A Study in Red – The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper, Porter goes on to tell what happens when Jack Reid inherits the secret papers left to him by his late Uncle Robert. Set in the present day, the author cleverly leaves the reader on a cliff-hanger at the end of each chapter, as he tells how Detective Inspector Holland and Sergeant Wright set about discovering, who is brutally killing young women on their patch. Like A Study in Red, this is another gripping novel and I found I was unable to put it down. Well done Brian L Porter.

Nice review, that looks like a very good book. Isn't it terrible that we have so many books which we cannot put down and then we have to prepare something to eat at the end of the day. Picture yourself standing with a book and trying to put things in a kettle! I have books all over the house and when I stop perchance to sit down it is very easy to pick one up and get lost.

This is so true. Thankfully my husband doesn't expect a grand meal at the end of the day - just as well, really, as my writing and my reading don't leave me much time for cooking, But then I was never much of a housewife :-)
Glad you liked the review.
