Thank you. I've enjoyed Francis's work and his comments for about 18 months. He's a good guy! I'm glad he told me about your site. I'm also interested in having a review of my novel, God's Thunderbolt: The Vigilantes of Montana, which won the 2009 Spur for Best First Novel from the Western Writers of America.

Thanks! I would be grateful for a review when you have finished it. It is very important to me that I get my message of hope out to the world. I am a healer and need to pay forward the goodness with which I have been blessed.

Thank you for the welcome.

The sun is shining here in the Scottish Borders at the moment. Not sure how long it will last.

Cheers,

I believe we are a bit more liberal in CA. However, their are some red-neck counties surrounding us where that's not the case. I'm not going to say much in a public forum.
We had a few bad apples, but not in narcs. And, the Sheriff's Dept is well respected. There's a lot of area to cover in Fresno Co., not much manpower. Many isolated areas and the deputies don't ride double. Migrant worker camps and homicides that never get solved. Rural law enforcement with all the problems that implies.
But, there are lots of funny incidents, and I really go in that direction with my novels. Yes, I talk about the drug trade, and yes, the next book covers a sex club (we thought it was a fruit and vegetable stand--clueless!), but it reflects how things really are in this part of the world. Instead of the Big Picture, Save the World-type book, I write about the very small elements, the ones people can relate to. After all, reading should be about entertainment as well as opening up the writer's world to readers. At least, that's what I try to achieve.

Have you ever wondered why?

Made in America

The other day I was putting on a shirt and for some reason looked at the tag inside the shirt. I had assumed that by this time in our society we had everything made in China. Well? It was not, Bangladesh is where my heavy winter shirt was made. I decided then to check out my blue jeans and see where they were made...Dominican Republic!

Where have the days gone when we had things made in America. Sure I understand as you, we have outsourced so many t
