How we spent our Fourth of July :-)

Alan and I had a wonderful weekend. Alan's daughter Leah's sweetheart's family owns property at the top of one of the mountains that overlook Andrew's Air Force Base, where the space shuttle comes down when it can't touch down in Florida, and John invited us to come help them celebrate the Fourth. turns out that celebrating Italian style is ONE big party!

The End of an Era

I have a moderately boring life, but, like many people, I'm careful to follow my routine. For a while it was hectic, but with the slowing of the economy, I am finding one thing after another coming to an end. It's almost as if 2009 blasted in, with C H A N G E as its slogan, and nothing IS as it WAS. This time of holiday cheer also means a time when others think they can take what they want. This young robber got the surprise of his life when his intended victim, a refugee from Iran who was used to facing REAL terrorists, is able to kick his butt!
